MID EAST TENSIONS
Will there ever be any real peace in The Middle East?
It’s a question many people are asking, and have been asking for years.
What’s happening in the Middle East has been going on for more than forty years and despite all the peace talks an high level efforts, the fighting continues.
Several groups are partly or fully responsible of the ongoing tensions. In the Eighties, Lebanon was embroiled in a bloody civil ear, which lasted for several years before a ceasefire ended the fighting. During the 2000s, there have been conflicts going on. Hezbollah has been involved are because they have members of the group is in Government, are active in whatever conflict is happening.
In recent months, Israel has been fighting Hamas, and more recently, Hezbollah. Israel just ivaded Lebanon (a Hezbollah stronghold). Iran is also firing missiles at Israel. While that is going on, Syria is embroiled in its own civil war, which has been going on since 2012. Other countries like Turkey have so far not joined in the fight, but who says they might not get involved in the future.
With all the tensions going on right now, it’s a wonder that an all-out war involving many Middle East countries hasn’t begun. There is something in the Bible that says that the next world war will begin in the Middle East. Lasting world peace is simply becoming a delusion. Believers in this thinking are growing fewer in number I’m afraid. The future doesn’t look so friendly anymore, does it?
